What is past life regression? how is it done? who does it? and where?

L. Ron Hubbard's original book on Dianetics covers the practice and it involves hypnosis. I have no idea how much of that was incorporated into the Church of Scientology, but the practice borders on pseudo science and, in my opinion, has no real value.
