Why did God allowed Satan into the Garden of Eden to tempt Eve?

If he forbid the temptation of Eve to happen then we will not be in this mess. Why did God allowed it? What is his purpose and plan? How is it going to benefit mankind, the universe and God's kingdom? Why did God drive the wicked angels all to earth. There are plenty of other deserted world to banished them, why earth, our home?
